The surprise for yesterday’s Day of December was a blog from Diana, posted on her Tumblr, all about her weekend in Edinburgh. It also included a few more pictures from her weekend which I’ve added to the gallery.
Happy 5th December everyone! This weekend, I had the pleasure of popping off to Edinburgh and enjoying the wonderful city and doing a spot of DJing whilst I was there! My tour manager Winnie, my boyfriend George and I tottied up there and got to stay in a very exclusive, lavish hotel! Winnie’s room was very bondesk theme and my room well, it was called the white room and was as white as heaven with a bath the size of a pool abd above our bed was a beautiful domesk window that was a dream to wake up to in the morning.
We got there on the Friday, got checked in and hopped to the first DJ set which I really enjoyed, a really cool student union that looked like something from Harry Potter, great chilled atmosphere and I got to play some wicked cool music, bashed out a bit of Beatles, old school KOL, a bit of old school Madonna, Zombies e.t.c its nice to be in an atmosphere like that and play some great credible music that your in to and people will enjoy!
That evening we went back to the lavish hotel cocktail bar, sipped a good few cocktails and had a jolly evening. Only to wake up the next morning to find out someone had been in our room and we had been robbed!
I won’t go in to the ins and outs but a lot of valuable things had been stolen and lots of things had been thrown out of bags and basically we were in a VERY big panic and I was VERY dramatic and had a small fit. After telling the hotel staff about our robbery, the unidentified THIEF had handed in all our items to the police station and we got them back safe and sound! Very lucky that it ended that way, or I would have been an extremley upset women. This meant I could enjoy the rest of my weekend. We had a lovely look round some shops and went to eat at a lovely french cuisine called Cafe Marlayne in the evening! It was beautiful food and was so christmassy and such a great atmosphere in the restaurant!
That evening I did a DJ set at a hip happening gay club. It was really good fun. Everyone at the club was so lovely, I befriended a drag quequeen called “Miss Cherry Bakewell” and it was great to see some lovely fans made it down to watch my set and have a boogie. I had a really great night and to finish it off the DJ after me played the song that I co-wrote for Enrique Iglesias and JLO! It was UH-mazin to hear it out loud in an actual club environment!
The next day we headed back to the big smoke and were greated with a warm welcome from my mother and sister, a nice yummy roast was waiting for me! Had cuddles and yummy food all evening, it was very special and was the perfect end to what was quite an eventful weekend!
Can’t wait for my next DJ set outside of London I’m very lucky that I get to travel and go to all these lovely places and take my friends and family. Next time I have a set i’ll keep you all informed so you can bob down if its a place near YOU! X
