Happy Wicked Wednesday everyone!

So for you those of you that DON’T know, on the 8th and 9th of Feb I am doing two shows, one in Manchester and one in London to preview my BRAND NEW album. This excites me a lot and if you don’t already have tickets (http://bit.ly/xlKCSH) I’d get purchasing, or just rock up and have a good night.

Now then, band rehearsals have started and it is all sounding as slick as Rick, but I was missing one particular person, Tommy.

Tommy is my old trumpet I used to toot for a few songs on tour, but unfortunately the tour life style took its toll on poor old Tommy and sadly he is not with us anymore.

SO this week I went on the prowl to see if I could find a new trumpet to take Tommy’s place, and I sure DID!

Boys and girls the beautiful, sexy, red trumpet is my new musical partner and you shall be seeing me and her on stage rocking our boots off in Feb. I don’t have a name for her yet so wanted to ask you guys for your thoughts? I thought it should begin with a “T” for “TRUMPET” of course.

‘Boy in Paris’ is a track I worked on with the very talented David Gamson (who, in case you didn’t know, was in an awesome band from the 80s, Scritti Politti!) . What I love about it is that it reminds me of a kind of early Eurythmics sound with all the dark synyths but as a package is also a big pop song. I’ve worked with David Gamson on a lot of the album and I think this song gives a real flavour of where I’ve gone sonically with my new music.

The song has a big connection with me, as I wrote it on true events. Paris has been a big part of my year this year on a lot of levels and I can say that I have truly fallen head over heels for the place. In fact, I just came back from Paris last week shooting the album and single shots, and I can honestly say it was the best shoot I ever done on every level.

I finally got around to downloading Blue Peter from last week, when Diana was co-presenting, and so I’ve now added x70 screencaps to the gallery.

Now that Diana’s Spring/Summer 2012 range for Dee V has been released, it has recieved nothing but positive reviews in the tabloids and press! Just a few of them can be read below. A gorgeous new promotional shoot for the range has also been released, which I have added to the gallery along with 4 new images from the range.

Diana Vickers was once described by Cheryl Cole as ‘cute as a button,’ and judging by these amazing new shots from her Very.co.uk collection, we’re inclined to agree. Diana looks more gorge than we’ve ever seen her as she models her SS12 collection – and we kind of want to log on and buy it ALL. The collection features retro prints, cute midi skirts and cropped tops all of which is making us think Grease – which in our eyes is always a good thing. Oh, and that cream coat? If we could slip that on every morning, getting out of bed would be an awful lot easier. However, our favourite part of the whole thing is Diana’s hair. We just wish we could pull off the cute swirl on the top of our heads, too. *sigh* How long till pay day?

Diana Vickers’ latest fashion line for Very.co.uk is out, like NOW! To celebrate the launch, the singer slash designer has spilled all – talking addictions and inspirations behind the 16-piece collection – starting with, err, radishes… “Vegetable prints were a highlight on the SS12 catwalks, which I thought was completely eccentric and so much fun.” “I found this amazing old curtain in a radish print, and instantly thought that’s a really cool print, let’s include it in the collection!” Dee V by Diana Vickers is the singer’s second collection for Very.co.uk and arguably her best selection yet (not that there was anything wrong with the last one mind). With prices starting at £29 – and ending at just £59 – it’s an easy way to tackle those spring trends without having sell your flat / car / Nan. Radish fan Diana continues: “I wanted to really play around with it [the radish print] – make the [radish] print bigger and better. It [the radish print] has ended up becoming a gorgeous 1950s style full-skirted dress which I’m in love with.” 1950s-style full-skirted dresses are an even bigger trend that radishes this spring – so someone (Ms Vickers) clearly knows what they’re doing. Radishes aside, is there anything else that Diana’s addicted to at the moment? “I’m obsessed with coats and jackets at the moment!” That’s that one cleared up then…hang on, there’s more…
“I can’t stop shopping for jackets and trying on other people’s jackets! I’ve invested in a good few recently, but I still really want a good long black jacket to wear in spring, so I’m still searching.” Erm, maybe you should design one yourself Dee V? Then we can buy that too. Then you can try ours on and all. Diana ignores us and continues: “My inspiration came from the 1950s and early 1960s retro style. I love all those old fashioned vintage shapes: lots of quirky prints and bright colours.” Ms Vickers may be a relative newcomer to the world of fashion but she’s certainly making waves – thanks in part to her Rockabilly new look.

DIANA Vickers stakes a worthy claim for a catwalk career as she poses for her latest clothing range. The singer, 20, smoulders as she wields a lolly and flaunts her midriff in some of her designs. Other snaps feature Diana modelling thigh-high socks and parading her bare legs beneath a coat. The bubbly singer proves herself to be a smouldering sight in front of the camera as she plugs her Dee V line for Very.co.uk. Despite parting company with her record label last summer, Diana has made great strides in other areas of business. She launched her first collection for Very last May, her second in July, and a Christmas collection followed in September. The online department store describes Diana’s wares as “an eclectic mix of vintage inspiration with a cute modern twist”. Diana is also making a name for herself on the cosmetics scene. Last year she was announced as the face of Collection 2000′s autumn and winter make-up line, helping to select such products as mascaras, eye shadows, lipsticks and false eye lashes. Furthermore, the busy bee has been working on her second album, due for release this year.

How are we all on this splendid Monday morning? I had a nice relaxing weekend after my busy bee week! I had such a great week though.

Monday, Tuesday I was in the studio rehearsing with my wonderful band making my new songs sound awesome. On Tuesday Blue Peter came down to the studio to do a spot of filming before I co presented the show on Thursday! It was lots of fun and they brought the Blue Peter doggy with them which excited us all A LOT.

Thursday was so much fun, I was so chuffed to be asked to be a part of the show and even though I was very nervous, as I have no real experience of presenting, I think I kept a cool head and did the best I could! We were rehearsing the show all day as there was lots to get through before we went LIVE at 5 45. People say there is nothing like the buzz of live television, I do agree but it did feel a bit overwhelming as I’d never done the job before! Aaah!

It went down a treat and a malteser though, all of the Blue Peter production team were so wonderful and helpful with me and the whole day was such a pleasure. I felt like I learnt a lot! The pressure of presenting a live show is a hard job, especially when they chop and change things when you’re LIVE! You just have to role with it and think on the spot! Hats off to Dermot every Saturday night and all the amazing presenters out there, it’s a real talent!

Anyway I hope some of you caught the show if not you can catch it this week on bbc iplayer all week! I’d Love to do a bit more presenting in the future along side my music and acting, a lot more to learn yet though! So yeah great week and the VERY shoot went spiffing yesterday, the clothes look fab and can’t wait for you to see them.

This week I have PARIS! Where I go to shoot my album and single covers, I really can not wait. I’ve been waiting for this moment for a very long time.
I’ll be updating you through out the days letting you know how it’s going. Brrrrr am gonna be cold!

We caught up with Diana Vickers when she came down to the Blue Peter studio to guest present the show. Here are her answers to the questions everyone wants to ask:

Do you have any new year’s resolutions?

Yes – to read more, go to more gigs, more plays and to generally love life!

What colour is your toothbrush?

I have about 5 for some reason! The one I use most is pink and I think the others are all blue.

Do you have a teddybear?

Yes! He’s a teddy called Charlie and at the moment he’s dressed as a clown.

Who’s the coolest person you’ve met?

Ohh, I can’t choose between Caleb from the Kings of Leon and Rihanna, they’re both really cool!

What’s the worst gift you’ve ever recieved?

I wouldn’t say it’s the worst but, the most predictable gift me and my sister get every year for Christmas is a matching set of dressing gowns and slippers from our mum!

What was the best song of last year?

If Blue Peter was coming round to yours for dinner, what would you make for us?

It would have to be a northen classic that I could make a bit posh. Like bangers and mash but with red onions and other surprises!

If you could travel back in time to visit any place or anyone, where or who would it be?

Definitely the 1960s, then I could hang around with really cool singers and bands like Cilla Black, Lulu and The Beatles!

If you were a superhero, what would your superpower be?

Mind control because I’d be able to get on a full train and use my powers to make someone give me their seat without even saying anything!

Do you have any weird phobias?

When people tickle me, I laugh so hard that sometimes I get scared because I think I might pass out. Now that’s an odd phobia isn’t it?!

If you could be any animal, what would you be?

A big owl because they’re so beautiful, and they can turn their head to look behind them!

What’s the most embarrassing thing that you’ve ever done?

Once I was going for a guitar lesson at my tutor’s house. When I got there, the front door was open so I went straight in.
But it was only when I went into the dining room and saw a family eating dinner that I realised I was in the wrong house. They were very confused to see me standing there with a guitar in my hand!

What was the last song you downloaded?

I think it was an album and it was actually the music of Swan Lake (the ballet) by Tchaikovsky.

Do you have any hidden talents?

I can play the trumpet quite well.

What were your favourite subjects at school?

Drama and R.E. My least favourite was physics.

This morning Diana tweeted someone that she was headed to Paris to shoot her album cover, and this afternoon she has also confirmed this by posting a Soundcloud to tell us she is going on Monday and Tuesday (16th-17th January) to Paris to shoot her album pictures! This is very exciting and I’m sure it’s just the beginning of a great 2012 for Diana musically, and I cannot wait to see the pictures! Both the tweet and Soundcloud can be found below.
